Master of Science in Strategic Management
You are here : MSc in Strategic Management > Description

The objective of the course is to provide training which will lead students to become "specialised generalists", with knowledge of the vital functions in a company and able to integrate different dimensions of the company in their strategic management decisions. As generalists they know about the various key areas in a company and as specialists they are able to extract the necessary information from these areas, judge its relevance to the situation at hand and encompass it in a sound strategic decision.
The programme teaches students not only to think systematically about how things happen in an organisation but about why they happen. Participants will learn how to build conceptual frameworks that will guide and support decisions that they will make throughout their business career. As a result, graduates are able to pursue their career in almost any industry or function of the organisation.

Unlike other strategic management programmes, EDHEC's Master in Strategic Management has found an ideal balance between theoretical course work and hands-on practice.
Numerous case studies including the Real-Case Consulting Mission, provide the opportunity to apply existing knowledge and develop new knowledge in the treatment of practical strategic assignments. In this project students are charged with analysing and proposing a detailed solution to a specific strategic challenge facing a real company, usually in a high-technology sector.
The Entrepreneurship Project demands that students undertake a complete business-planning process based on an enterprise creation idea of their own or within the context of the Young Seedlings Trophy business plan competition.
This challenging team work is a means to develop analytical and decision-making skills and know-how in the field and is particularly appreciated by the students.
