INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CAREERS
On Monday 8th October, two high-flying EDHEC graduates currently working in leading investment banks in London visited the School's campus in Nice, to share their insights into London's finance sector. This event devoted to Careers in Investment Banking was hosted by the two alumni to explain the functioning of Investment banks in the UK and describe how they organise their recruitment around highly specific tests and interviews conducted in their assessment centres.
David Eline (Class of 1996) Executive Director at Calyon; Hedge Fund Structured Credit Sales presented the London finance markets and his experience in the City. Calyon is Credit Agricole's key account international corporate and investment banking entity. Its main areas of activity are capital markets, investment banking, financing activities and private banking.
Emeric Hudault (Class of 2004) currently an Associate, Leveraged Finance Origination at MIZUHO Corporate Bank; Ltd. represented Mizuho, a Japanese bank belonging to the Mizuho financial group. It was founded in 2002 following the merger between Dai Ichi Kangyo Bank and Fuji Bank and the Industrial Bank of Japan. His insights into the different sectors (trading, sales, structuring, quantitative research) were clear and informative and of particular interest to the students of the MSc in Risk and Asset Management.
In order for students to get the most out of the afternoon the EDHEC careers centre team had added extra company information on the School's e-learning platform and encouraged the students to practice the recruitment tests available in the Careers Service.
The lecture hall was full as students from the two Master of Science programmes were keen to learn more about the application form process, recruitment interviews, and more generally to clue up on the many legends and dreams conjured up by the City! It is expected that with the opening of EDHEC's two new Finance related Master's programmes in 2008, even more new career openings will become available to graduates.
